The sad thing is...
... I can't think of anything that I now want to cook in my fully functioning oven. Whirlpool has defeated me.

hurrah! I've been concerned. Write a nasty letter and have M. translate it (yes, I'm volunteering him!). We wrote a nasty letter to the tile people (7 weeks overdue -- delayed construction, constant stream of lies about when they'd arrive) and we ended up getting several hundred euros back *and* an apology! Dutch people never officially complain, so when you send a letter to the manager, they are freaked out and don't know what to do and, at least in our experience, tend to take it seriously! jess
That's a good idea. Although, the thought of having to talk to them again is just soul-destroying! On the other hand, I still have a copy of the email I sent to the head of Whirlpool International, so maybe he could just translate that . . .
