This happened some time ago, during the Great Gale Of January 2012 -- no damage to the house, other than a couple of dislodged roof tiles. Stupid place for a tree, and it was mostly dead. At least I got one batch of exploding elderflower cordial from it.

Pinebanks -- formerly one of the best company-owned sports grounds in the UK. Carefully manicured bowling greens, tennis courts, football and cricket pitches . . . now, a shadow of its former self, awaiting transformation into "executive homes." Thanks, Aviva.
