I returned from the gym this morning to find both cats playing a waiting game with a mouse that they'd "lost" behind the cupboard. Nearly 12 hours later, they're still waiting -- having taken it in turns to play "cat and mouse" throughout the day. They may be careless but they're quite organized.
Update: The body was discovered at 8.20 a.m. this morning; the initial examination suggested that death took place approximately 9 hours earlier, just after the lights were switched off. Funeral arrangements are being made.

It's been fairly cold here -- Shin has taken to sleeping under the radiator to stay warm. What a wuss! 18 degrees (C) is a perfectly reasonable indoor temp!

This happened some time ago, during the Great Gale Of January 2012 -- no damage to the house, other than a couple of dislodged roof tiles. Stupid place for a tree, and it was mostly dead. At least I got one batch of exploding elderflower cordial from it.
